Whitmore Sports Day
Whitmore’s Sports Day was held in glorious sunshine at Bannisters Stadium in Harrow in July this year. All members of year 7, 8 and 9 attend the Sports Day and compete in an inter-form competition.
The year 7 competition was won by 7JAD, with 7MCW in second place and 7SZJ in third place. The top performing boy in the year was Naylen Hassan who jumped a school record 8.32m in the triple jump. The top performing girl was Hardeel Jardali who won the triple jump, discus and shot putt. Inniyavan Kunanithy threw the javelin 25.04m which was also a new school record.
The year 8 competition was won by 8FMD, with 8RSB in second place and 8CDH in third place. The top performing girl was Nia Bowman for the second year running for her age category, winning the 100m and part of a winning 4 x 100m relay team. The top performing boy was Finley Hart who won both the 400m in 68.08 seconds and 800m in 2.35 minutes.
The year 9 competition was won by 9HES, with 9ICG in second place and 9RKM in third place. The top performing boy was Lakshit Parashar winning the 800m in 2.57mins and Triple jump with a distance of 8.73m. The top performing girl was Rumindha Gurung winning the discus with a distance of 17.60m and the shot putt in 6.60m.
