Whitmore's Sixth Formers Achieve Their Gold DofE
Whitmore is very proud of our sixteen Year 12 Students who attended the prestigious Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition this July. The Duke of Edinburgh Award is a highly regarded and internationally recognised award.
To achieve the gold award students have to complete two five day expeditions. This expedition was to Wales. The students found themselves on the Welsh mountains with the most fantastic views. During the expedition there was lots of good humour to keep the students’ spirits up. There was no complaining about sore feet and the students worked together to support one another so that everyone could enjoy the challenge.
Expeditions need lots of preparation; so thank you to Gateway Outdoors, the company that organised the expedition, Ms Bishop and Ms Gray, the Duke of Edinburgh School Co-ordinators, and all of the staff who are supporting the Students on their journey to success. Congratulations to all involved!
