A new year and an exciting future: what's next for Y11?
With their final exams creeping closer and closer, our Year 11s have had a variety of opportunities to explore their options for their next steps, supporting them in planning for their future beyond KS4. On 5th January, every Year 11 student visited the annual options ‘Market Place’. It offered a perfect chance to speak to current Sixth formers about the A level and BTEC courses on offer at Whitmore, asking questions and discovering the type of work that will be involved. The following day, we hosted the ‘Preparing for Opportunities’ conference, with professionals from a huge range of industries and careers running taster workshops for the students, offering an immersive and exciting insight into future possibilities.
Besides these large-scale events, each student has also had an individual guidance interview for Post-16 choices, discussing their plans for their next steps with a member of Whitmore staff. Thank you to both staff and students for their involvement and support in such successful events.
