Year 8 Student Medics For A Day
On Thursday 12th October all Year 8 students took part in Restart a Heart Day.
Whitmore takes part in this initiative every year and it’s a really fantastic opportunity for young people to be trained in how to save a life.
The students took part in a session where they had a demonstration on how to perform CPR and then worked in small groups to try out the procedure for real on a mannequin.
The students very quickly were able to perform the 3 step procedure - the only part they seemed to find difficult was when they had to shout for help!!! They suddenly became very shy and did not want to raise their voices!! Very unusual for Whitmore’s Year 8 students!
This training is so important for everyone; one day your child could save a life because they took part in Restart a Heart at Whitmore.
