From Pressure to Prom

The Year 13 Prom took place at the Blue Room Hatch End at the end of June. The evening was filled with joy and laughter as we celebrated our final journey together at Whitmore Sixth Form. It was a truly memorable event that would be etched in our hearts for years to come which was made possible by the collective efforts of the prom committee, along with Mrs. Aguda and Mrs. Bhabuta who dedicated themselves to the event’s preparation even amidst the pressures of exams.

As I walked into the elegantly decorated ballroom, I couldn’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia. This year’s prom was more than just dancing; it was the finale of our Sixth Form journey. The venue was filled with great vibes. The photo booth was my favourite part of the prom as everyone had the chance to take cute and funny little photographs with friends and teachers and keep them for the rest of their lives, allowing us to enjoy these moments as memories. I have never danced at an event before, but this year’s song list was excellent and made me try a few moves.

The food was absolutely delicious, especially the chocolate fountain and the popcorn. The idea of the awards ceremony was brilliant, and I never expected to win Prom King, but it was wonderful with everyone cheering and rooting for me. Thanks to all those who voted for me. One of my most touching moments was when we all gathered to take the group picture, to celebrate the journey of the Whitmore Sixth Form 2024 cohort.

It was a lovely event to take part in and relax after the two years of hard work that we have all put in, so thanks to Mrs. Aguda, Mrs. Bhabuta and Mr. Amoah for arranging such a great event.
