Going, Going and Now Gone for Gold
This week, our Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award students set off on their Qualifying Expedition, marking an important milestone in their DofE journey. After months of preparation, training and practice expeditions, they are now putting their skills to the test in the great outdoors.
Over the course of the expedition, students will navigate independently, work together as a team, carry all of their own equipment, cook meals, camp overnight and demonstrate the resilience, leadership and problem-solving skills that are at the heart of the Gold Award. It is a challenging experience that encourages personal growth, self-reliance and perseverance.
The Gold Qualifying Expedition is often regarded as one of the most memorable parts of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, providing opportunities to build confidence, strengthen friendships and create lasting memories.
We wish Aarushan, Kaveesh, Agilan, Laura, Maran, Marley, Naomi-Ruth, Soren, Saiditya, Akshayan, Sasha, Heer, Katyayani, Yuvraj and Niya the very best of luck as they begin their adventure. We are incredibly proud of their commitment, determination and enthusiasm, and we look forward to hearing about their experiences when they return. Stay safe, stay hydrated, and enjoy the journey!
