Whitmore Sports Day
Whitmore Sports day was a wonderful celebration of all that is good about school PE and sport in general. The weather was beautiful, attendance was excellent and there was competition and teamwork in equal measure leading to a really fun day for all years involved.
The day started with a parade of the class banners which were of a really high standard, making the judging really difficult. However a decision was made and the winning forms were 9FO, 8MI and 7WI. This was followed by the hotly anticipated and fiercely competitive tug of war finals where 7ML, 8MI and 9LW ran out winners.
The year 7 inter-form sports day competition was won by 7WI. There was also a new record posted in the long jump by Sara El Jacifi 7MM with a distance of 3.10m. The trophies for top performing individuals in year 7 went to Erik Croitoru and Nia Bowman.
The year 8 inter-form sports day competition was won by 8MI. There was also a new record posted in the high jump by Baktazh Mohammad 8GR with a height of of 1.50m. In the discus a record was set by Rumindha Gurung 8WO with a throw of 16.25m. The trophies for top performing individuals in year 8 went to Baktazh Mohammad and Mia Scott.
The year 9 inter-form sports day competition was won by 9LW. There was also a new record posted in the triple jump by Ushmi Kabariya 9SN with a distance of 7.39m. The trophies for top performing individuals in year 9 went to Daniel Smith and Sarah Bakare.
Well done to all the winners and a big thank you to everyone involved for making the day so successful.
