Year 7 Students "Pop" with Creativity in Christmas Card Workshop

On Thursday, December 12th, 2024, the Year 7 gifted and talented art students participated in an exciting after-school workshop. Inspired by the renowned artist Henri Matisse and winter themes, the students embarked on a creative journey to design and craft unique pop-up winter cards.

The workshop provided students with a variety of coloured cardstock and encouraged them to cut out intricate designs, such as snowflakes, stars, peace doves, and Christmas trees. A key challenge was to carefully select and arrange these cut-outs to create a captivating three-dimensional effect within their card designs.

The students enthusiastically embraced the project, showcasing their creativity and artistic skills. One student, Aanya from 7SAB, created a truly remarkable Christmas card featuring a pop-up Christmas tree adorned with charming oval decorations and a touch of holly at the top.

Aanya shared her enthusiasm for the workshop, stating, "I thoroughly enjoyed making the card and appreciated the opportunity to experiment with a wide range of materials."

The workshop was a resounding success, fostering artistic expression and providing students with a valuable and memorable experience.
