Rhythm & Roots: Celebrating Black History Month with the Function Band

In the final week of October, Whitmore’s talented function band took centre stage to celebrate Black History. Their set list honoured iconic black artists, featuring unforgettable songs by Alicia Keys, Outkast and Corinne Bailey Rae. We couldn’t be prouder of the exceptional musicians at Whitmore, and we eagerly look forward to every opportunity to showcase their incredible talent!

Band Festival

“On 12th November some students including myself had the opportunity to take part in a performance at Harrow Arts Centre called Band Festival. During the day we rehearsed at the Arts Centre with many students from schools around the borough. The rehearsal time provided us with valuable experience of what takes place behind the scenes of music performances. It was very enjoyable to be able to play fun songs with others and to perform that same evening to a large audience. The whole day was very memorable and we were all very grateful for the opportunity.” Karim, Year 11
