Trip to the Tempest

KS5 drama students were really excited to join the English department last week to see Shakespeare’s Tempest with Sigourney Weaver in the main role as Prospero. Students will use this performance for their Live Theatre Evaluation exam.

On the penultimate day of the autumn term the whole of Year 8 and A Level drama students went to Watford Palace Theatre to see Aladdin. For many of our students this was the first time they had been to a theatre to see a Pantomime. Students experienced a high energy and loud performance with exaggerated characters, outrageous costumes, and a very colourful set. Everyone enjoyed the audience participation and we even had Whitmore students on stage!!! It was a really enjoyable experience for all and has prepared our Year 8s well for their next scheme of learning where they will create and perform their own Pantomime. Thank you to all staff who gave up their time to accompany us on this trip.
