Gold Duke of Edinburgh Students Smash Their Qualifying Expedition

We are incredibly proud to announce that all 30 of our Gold Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) students have successfully completed their qualifying expedition in the stunning but challenging terrain of the South Downs. Despite facing some of the hottest weather conditions of the year, our students displayed remarkable determination, teamwork, and resilience throughout their journey.

Over the course of four demanding days, they navigated their route with confidence, carried all of their kit, and supported one another through the highs and lows of expedition life. Their positive attitude, even under extreme heat, was noted by their DofE assessor, who was so impressed that he has personally written to the Headteacher to commend them.

In his words, the group were “an absolute credit to the school” and “did not just complete the qualification - they smashed it.”

This achievement is the culmination of months of preparation and commitment, and these students have truly earned their Gold Award. They have shown what it means to push through adversity and emerge stronger for it.

We could not be prouder of them - not just for completing the expedition, but for the way they represented our school with pride, perseverance and spirit. Well done to all involved!
