Regional Triumph in the French Spelling Bee!
On Tuesday 10th March, three of our brilliant Year 7 students - Devanshi (7OAW), Aadil (7NPO) and Manvi (7IXA) travelled with me to Rokeby School to take part in the Regional Stage of the French Spelling Bee. After weeks of dedication, they had mastered an impressive list of 200 French vocabulary words, and their hard work truly shone throughout the competition.
Our journey on the London Underground was filled with excitement (and just a few nerves), and upon arriving at Rokeby School we were greeted by a buzzing atmosphere, with talented linguists from across the region ready to compete. Our students rose to the challenge with confidence, performing superbly in every round.
We came incredibly close to qualifying for the National Stage in Cambridge, missing out by only a narrow margin. Although we were not selected this time, the standard of their performance was exceptional, and we could not be prouder of their achievements.
A huge congratulations to Devanshi, Aadil and Manvi. They represented the school with maturity, resilience and a genuine passion for languages. We are excited to see where their enthusiasm and talent will take them next.
