Anti-Bullying Week 2021
Promoting kindness and celebrating diversity
To celebrate Anti-Bullying week from 15th to 19th November, all students took part in activities with their form group to raise awareness of bullying. This year students discussed the importance of kindness, with this year’s anti-bullying message ‘one kind word’.
At Whitmore, we used this opportunity not only to promote kindness, but to celebrate the diversity we have within our community. Sometimes bullying is routed in discrimination, and at Whitmore we feel strongly about celebrating diversity.
During form time activities, students discussed what makes our community diverse, suggesting ways in which we can celebrate our differences. Each form group worked together to create bunting which promotes and celebrates diversity, to display on noticeboards in every form room. Heads of Year now have the difficult task of deciding which forms in their year groups to select as winners to receive a prize! Please see the photos for some of the great ‘celebrating diversity’ displays already up in classrooms around the school.
Look out for upcoming anti-bullying events next term being led by our Anti-Bullying Advocates!
